Healthy options were not always my first choice in college. The UGH days of late nights, crappy food, too many parties, and no exercise quickly caught up with 5' 2" to make me feel totally uncomfortable in my own skin.



In 2005, after I started dating my now "hubs"  I decided to quit smoking, and start running! Easier said than done, but after many bonks I finally worked my way up to 20 minute runs.  Quitting smoking was the best healthy decision I had ever made, and running gradually became much easier.   I actually started to love the way I felt after a good run and a tough hill. The confidence gained by my new found love, both the boy and the running, was enough to pursue my now active lifestyle doing lots of new activities.

In 2007 I married my love and we currently keep up our active lifestyle by running, mountain biking, camping, and backpacking as much as life lets us.  We have a beautiful pit bull who joins us on all our adventures- and can snuggle in a sleeping bag with the best of 'em!
We spend endless hours in the kitchen or at the grill creating healthy, and sometimes not so healthy, versions of our favorite foods.
